Halloween Raven

November 1 2014

What's that - a Cardinal in the Owyhee desert? No - wait it's The Raven, who dressed up in costume and rode with Dudley on a 50-mile endurance ride for Halloween!

Tough Sucker

April 27 2014

The Raven had a lively, terrific 50-mile ride on Saruq in the Owyhee Tough Sucker II. It was a blustery day on a strong fast horse with good company and gorgeous scenery! The Raven has over 6000 endurance miles!

Catching Up

May 29 2010

Since The Raven is 150 miles behind his owner, he decided to try to catch up. Today, on Day 3 of the Owyhee Fandango, he rode with Kara and her horse Jack. They rode 60 miles, and here The Raven and Kara trot out Jack for his final vet inspection,

and await the vet's final word.

Jack completed! The Raven completed 60 more miles! Now he's only 90 miles behind his owner!

Now, he might ride the 100-mile Tevis with Kara and Jack... which means if he finishes, he'd be 10 miles AHEAD of his owner...

an UNHEARD OF accomplishment for a Raven...

Up top is The Raven with his special 4000-mile award from the Owyhee Ride.

4 Grand for The Raven!

Friday May 28 2010

Today The Raven hit 4000 endurance miles! 4000 miles in the saddle (bags) on endurance horses over trails in Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Utah, Idaho.

Pretty sure he's the only Raven doing endurance, and he's certainly the only one with 4000 miles!

Today, Jose took him another 50 miles, at the Owyhee Fandango, to reach his goal.

Here's to another 4000!

Tough Suckers!

Saturday April 3 2010

The Raven is back in the saddle. He finished another 50 mile endurance ride in Owyhee! The Tough Sucker. It was cold, the wind was strong; but the trails were great, and the Raven's horse, Jose, was awesome as usual.

Jose and the Raven pose in front of an active Raven nest. The adult Ravens both flew over us to check us out.

At the finish.

The Raven and Jose are buddies. Thanks, Jose!
