Raven Rides City of Rocks

The Raven has also kept up his endurance riding. He's got some 8000 AERC endurance miles now.

In June he rode the Standardbred Hillbillie Willie on a 50-miler in the City of Rocks Pioneer Endurance ride, in southern Idaho, in City of Rocks National Reserve.

Here he is with his pal Willie (and snoozing Jose).

2016 Santiam Cascade

The Raven has a new BHF (Best Horse Friend), Dezzie. The Raven rode Dezzie 50 miles in the Santiam Cascade ride in Oregon. The two had a blast together. Dezzie is a fun ride!

The Raven and DUDLEY rode their first 50-mile ride together! The Dude and The Raven bonded, particularly in the vet checks while eating. Dudley never likes to share his food, but he loved sharing with The Raven!

Eagle Extreme

The Raven and Jose finished the Eagle Extreme 50-mile endurance ride, with Steph and Batman. This video gives you an idea of how much fun it was (and notice the baby antelope we rode up on at about 4:50!).

Tough Sucker

The Raven had a lively, terrific 50-mile ride on Saruq in the Owyhee Tough Sucker II. It was a blustery day on a strong fast horse with good company and gorgeous scenery! The Raven has over 6000 endurance miles!

The Raven rode Rushcreek Mac on all 3 days of the Owyhee Fandango Endurance Ride. He had a blast! Mac is a fun horse to ride. Eating with Mac at the vet checks was particularly satisfying.









And Mac got Best Conditioned horse over the 3 days! Probably because he had Good Raven Luck riding with him.

5 Days With Jose and 5000 miles!

The Raven has been soooooooo busy, not least of which has been the last 5 days! The Raven rode and finished his first 5-day endurance ride, and he did it on his favorite horse, Jose!

Day 3 The Raven hit 5000 career endurance miles (likely the only Raven do ever do so). Finishing Day 5 was a thrill.

Cheap Thrills

The Raven and Jose rode 100 miles together over 2 days at the Cheap Thrills No Frills ride - making over 1000 miles of endurance together!

Completion awards for the Cheap Thrills ride was a pair of really cool sunglasses. The Raven Looooooooves his sunglasses.

Owyhee Fandango

May 27-29 2011

The Raven got to ride all 3 days of the Owyhee Fandango! Day 1 was 50 miles on Finneas. Day 2 and 3 were 50 and 60 miles on Jose!

Eagle Spring Fling

The Raven returned to the foothills of Eagle to ride Jose in the Eagle Spring Fling endurance ride. He had a great time riding Jose again. The ride was easier this year - not so many hills - but of course the Raven lets Jose do all the work.


They are the best of buddies.

Today The Raven hit 4000 endurance miles! 4000 miles in the saddle (bags) on endurance horses over trails in Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Utah, Idaho.

Pretty sure he's the only Raven doing endurance, and he's certainly the only one with 4000 miles!

Today, Jose took him another 50 miles, at the Owyhee Fandango, to reach his goal.

Here's to another 4000!

Tough Suckers!

The Raven is back in the saddle. He finished another 50 mile endurance ride in Owyhee! The Tough Sucker. It was cold, the wind was strong; but the trails were great, and the Raven's horse, Jose, was awesome as usual.

The Raven is a bit of a shopaholic, which all started when he bought his clone off ebay:

at the Montana Fort Howes ride. He had Teddy of Running Bear, and Susan of Healthy As A Horse keep bringing him things to try out.



The Raven REALLY loved the silk Running Horses scarf by Laurel Burch.


He wouldn't let me see the bill of everything he bought.
